I learned the best time to take pictures of a toddler and how to get him to look at the camera. Take a chair outside into the middle of the grass right after it has rained and carry to the child to the chair but make sure he doesn't have shoes on. He is then stuck in the chair for fear of his feet getting messy. To get him to look at you said words like, Buzz, fishing, and Daddy or just hold a cookie right about the camera. Then take about 100 photos and you will have at least one that is frame worthy. Success!
