Valentine's Cards

Isaac and Nolan got some Valentine's cards in mail from Granny, Grumpy, Gma and Gpa.

Isaac also got a book on rocks and minerals which he immediately started reading.

Then they wrote their names on the Valentines to their friends and Isaac even wrote all of his classmates names too.

Valentine's Service Project

I'm trying to come up with service projects for the kids in our small group to do. Here's one that we tried out and will do again. We made Valentine's cards for a retirement home in town and the residents loved them. The kids did pretty good for the first 20 or so cards, but we did make it to the 70 card mark.

Crazy Couple of Weeks

I had a house full of kids on President's Day. Little L had a lump on her neck biopsied so I offered to take their other two kids so the parents could both be there for the procedure. The little Hayden has been in the hospital close to a week because he had/has RSV and needed oxygen. This took a turn and he needed to be transported to the children's hospital for more intensive care. So we had their children over for the day. We all had a lot of fun playing together and doing experiments. Thankfully Hayden got to come home late last week, just in time for us (Nolan) to use his room at the hospital.
As for Nolan he's finally eating today and getting off the couch. Hopefully he'll be going to school tomorrow.

Nolan's Stomach Has Issues

Nolan has a quickish trip to the ER last night because he had been throwing up all day and towards the end of the evening he started to throw up blood. They gave him a dose of Zofran, which didn't stop his vomiting. So we moved on to an iv with a triple dose of Zofran. So far that has done the trick. We were sent home with a double dose to use every 4 hours, but this drug makes him sleepy and not want to eat or drink. Today I'm just keeping an eye on him and trying to get him to eat and drink. Hopefully a follow up with our doctor this wee will help us figure out the best approach to his stomach issues.

Nolan's Drawing

While waiting for the bus Nolan and I draw on the front storm door. Of course Nolan, the one that pushes the limits, drew himself and added a penis. I thought boys didn't start drawing penises everywhere until middle school.

Freezer Meals

I've been a part of a freezer meals cooking group for 3.5 years now and still love it. http://freezermealexchange.blogspot.com/ https://www.facebook.com/freezermealexchangeclub Here's what my kitchen looks like in the middle of making Chicken Cordon Bleu. It's pretty much an assembly line. Nolan helped me pound out the chicken. I roll them up with the ham and cheese inside. Then move on to the crust and packaging. I put plastic wrap then foil to help keep them free of freezer burn and write cooking directions on the foil so they are easy to find. It's pretty simple and gets a good return on the time you put into it. With our group I make 6 meals and get 5 different meals at our exchange. With the meals that our family doesn't care for I usually donate to someone having a surgery. I also end up donating meals when our freezer is too full or if I know someone is in need.

Handsome

This guys loves looking good and I let him pick is own clothes. He often picks a button up shirt because he is told he looks handsome when he wears it. He's also taking pictures of his food here, because I take pictures of my freezer meals for our blog.
