Colors

Today at our MOPS meeting we did an art project with our children. I picked a canvas for us to do and Isaac loved it. It was a little crazy trying to keep him painting only on our canvas, but he loves "colors" as he calls it.

October 15th

October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. I couldn't bring myself to actually post on the 15, I was having a very emotional day. I usually post the first weekend in October for our Walk to Remember, but we didn't go this year due to the weather. So I'm posting today and wanted to thank my wonderful husband for making the day better and my friend for the nice note.

Candy

I think Isaac is going to love trick-or-treating. While at the store yesterday in the Halloween isle I called a friend to let her know about a costume they had. In that one minute conversation I wasn't watching Isaac and he helped himself to a Reese's ghost. When I got off the phone I saw him munching on the candy while the wrapper was on the ground along with his hammer. I guess I need to do a better job teaching him that we have to pay for things from stores before we eat them.

Trader's Point

Isaac had so much fun trying to pet the chickens and feeding the cows. He was talking nonstop to them and they were talking back. I think we're going to have to stop by here every time we go to Costco.

The Tiny Tadpole

This is one of Isaac's favorite books, partially because it has textures on each page and partially because the last page fold out to a leaping frog. Last night he took it to bed with him and read it to himself for about an hour before falling asleep, which is normal. Then I woke up at 2am to Isaac yelling "Frog!" He continued to read the book over and over again until 4am yelling "Frog!" at the end every time. While I love that he was reading in bed, I do not love that it kept me awake and that he woke up for the day at 6am.

Basketball

David signed up to play basketball at Connection Pointe Church and was out practicing with Isaac. I couldn't resist going and taking pictures. I tried to do a drive by but Isaac spotted me.

Eagle Creek Park

David took some pictures of us with his phone while we are at the park Saturday. I'm amazed that my belly looks like that even though I haven't gained any weight. I can't believe I'm 15 weeks either, this one's going by fast. Thank you God for this blessing me with this amazing family.

Artwork Request

I got a request to post Isaac artwork. It's not crumpled from me digging it out of the trash, it's that way because that's how he brings it to me. Currently he only has access to crayons because he gets crazy with markers. Last time he had a marker he went running through the house like a wild man and only stopped to mark his friend on the arm then proceeded to run some more while marking the couch and wall. For some reason, he sits nicely at the table with the crayons and draws. Today I thought we'd try finger paint, but he wasn't into painting on the paper. He would touch it then rub his finger on his shirt because he doesn't like his hands to be dirty. As you see in one picture he even tried to taste it. I had to force his hand into the paint and smear it around, which he was ok with as long as he could wipe his hand on his shirt.

October 5 dr. appt.

Isaac stole the show, he got to listen to his own heart beat and and play with the doppler to listen to his stomach too. We was too cute playing with it trying to listen to different parts of his body while we talked. We listened to gummy bear on the doppler and its heart beat is great. I haven't gained any weight yet, but I'm sure that will happen soon enough. This pregnancy still doesn't seem real to me though. When I'm getting tired around noon, I think to myself that a soda would really help me get through the day. Or when I put on a pair of pants and can't button them, I think gosh Amy you should lay off the sweets. Then I remember, "Oh yeah, I'm pregnant." and thank God that he has blessed us. Lindsey, you're right. This baby is higher up, which according to old wives tales would mean it's a girl. But in reality it just get implanted higher in the uterus. The Chinese Gender Prediction calendar also says this is a girl. The ultrasound that would tell us the gender is coming up in just 5 weeks, but we're not finding out.

Chainsaw

Last night before going to bed I told Isaac he could pick one tool to take with him. I was thinking he'd grab a hammer, but he immediately got the chainsaw and happily went off to bed with it. This is unusual since he has been crying and fighting naps and bedtime lately. At 6:3o this morning I awoke to sounds of a chainsaw. He makes life more interesting.
