Finally

I had my last round of acupuncture and am glad I'm done. The first time I went I was excited and truly believed that it worked for me at that time since I started a cycle a few days after. But now I am just done. I got a few bruises this time arm, leg, and stomach.

Theatre

Awhile back David got a triplette pass to the IRT theatre so we could see 3 shows at a discounted price. Well, we forgot about them until recently and when we did look at what shows were playing we found that there are only 3 left. So we have to go to all three. The first one we went to see today, since this is the last weekend it is going on, was Looking over the President's Shoulder. It was a butler sharing memorizes of his time in the White House with 3 different presidents, Hoover, Roosevelt, and Truman. I enjoyed it because I like hearing stories of Eleanor Roosevelt. David slept through the first half, just not enough action for a Sunday afternoon. Next we will be seeing Iron Kisses. I hope it is good.

Birthday list

Some family members have been asking what I want for my b-day. Well, here's my list so far.
Sheryl Crow tickets
Laptop cooler
Eric Clapton tickets
House Painted (inside and out)
Jack Johnson tickets
Pergola
Help landscaping the lawn
Trip to Charleston with old friends
Trip anywhere with David
Family members visiting for a week (anything shorter doesn't count and anything longer will feel like you've moved in)

Baby Mama

I got movie tickets from the radio station to see a special showing of Baby Mama. So David and I went to see this movie last night and it is hilarious. Karla you will love it and Courtney you've got to see it. If anybody in Indianapolis wants to see it I would love to see it again. I imagine this is what life would be like for me if I had my sister living with me, no offense Court. I always imagine the worst and I think this movie would be my worst case scenario. They also gave us a toilet clamp, not sure if parents really use this. I had never seen these before this movie.

Under construction

Before
Everyone helped. Dorito cleaned under the stove.
Thanks for your help Dad, we couldn't have done it without you.

Daisy held the floor down.
David got to use his new saw. Thanks G-pa and G-ma.
It doesn't look like my house anymore, but I'm not complaining. It's almost done. Dad and David worked for about 12 hours Saturday. David will try to finish it up today.

Earthquake!

The strongest earthquake I've every felt. I was in 2 earthquakes when I lived in CA but I never felt one of them. David slept through it and the dogs thought someone was breaking in. What a way to wake up. On top of the earthquake David accidently stepped on Dorito's paw and broke one of his nails. Dorito and I visited the vet because it was still bleeding after a few hours and he lost his whole nail. Since they have to sedate him at the vet he is now falling over.

We witnessed a murder!!!!!

We had dinner at the Morris-Butler Museum. It was a Murder Dinner Theatre. I loved it! This is the only dinner I have had that I was supposed to overhear people's conversations. David was actually a suspect because he was so nosey. The pictures below were of the body. In the first one David had just told me to get closer to the body. I was sooo embarrassed as you can tell in the next picture I am beat red. The last picture is of the weapon.

2nd round

2nd round of acupuncture was a lot like the first. This time I got a small bruise on my foot. I thought I was going to because that needle hurt. I do not know much about Eastern medicine so I don't know how, why, or what is actually working. There was a study done on acupuncture and fertility and here are their findings.

A German study done in 2002 showed that of the 80 women who underwent IVF and received acupuncture, 34 women got pregnant, a success rate of 42.5%. Of the 80 women involved in the study who received IVF without any acupuncture treatments, only 21 women (26.3%) became pregnant. More recently, an American study involving 114 women showed that 51% of the women who had acupuncture and IVF treatments became pregnant versus only 36% of the women who had IVF alone. Deeper analysis of this study revealed that, while 8% of the women in the acupuncture group miscarried, the rate of miscarriage in the IVF-only group was 20%. Furthermore, women who received acupuncture also had lower rates of ectopic pregnancies.

It seems pretty promising. The lady decided I need some more help this time and she put magnets in the tops of my ears. I have not read anything about this but she says that it promotes ovulation. I'm a little skeptical. I'm also wondering what's going to happen next week.

My house got TP'ed

Actually it was my bathroom while I was in the shower. Dorito just laid there and watched it happen.

What about Coach

He's doing great. He's 16 pounds and Daisy is currently 18. As you can see they get along most of the time. Daisy wants to play with Coach and Coach doesn't quite understand that. Coach will let Daisy sniff and lick him but not chase. Dorito has been letting Coach come out and socialize more. Coach is even going outside again just not when the dogs are out there.

Simon's Cat 'Cat Man Do'

Sorry, the video was removed due to copyright issues. Here it is again if you didn't see it earlier. Coach does this to David if we don't lock him up at night.

It worked!

My verdict is that acupuncture worked. I got my hormones back on Thursday, I became very angry as I looked around the house and noticed all of David's stuff laying around. Poor David came back from a business trip Friday and I told him what I thought of the house and what he needed to work on. He was a good sport and started on my list, by the end of the weekend I think we liked eachother a lot more.

Where are you from?

I am amazed that there are people in Spain, France, and Brunei Darussalam that read my site. Not to mention all the places across the United States. I have become somewhat obsessed with checking the stats on my blog. The stats even tell me what Google search they were doing when they came upon my site. I guess I am still in awe of the Internet. Gosh that makes me sound old.

Acupuncture update

Last night when I was getting ready for bed I noticed that I had a bruise from acupuncture. It may be my fault that I got it because I moved to look at the needles but then again it could be from the acupuncturist. This is the only bruise that I got from about 20 needles, but it looks like a bad bruise. It has lines in it from my pants sitting on it all day today. By the way, if you can't tell, the bruise is on my stomach. My doc told me to call her if I had not had a cycle in over 35 days, so I called her today and they made me come in for a pregnancy test. It was negative but I already knew that. Now she says to give her a call next week if I don't start a cycle. I'm sure I'm not going to start a cycle and I know she's going to give me some medicine either Provera or Prometrium. Not looking forward to taking hormones, they make me mean. Forgot to mention that the acupuncturist told me to take the medicine.

Acupuncture

This morning I felt like I was drowning, just to much to do and needing help to do it. Now I am tired and hopeful. Today I tried acupuncture for fertility, I'm not ready to take the drugs and want to try something different. I believe the woman I went to has a side job as a fortune teller. After I told her that I had a miscarriage and took fertility drugs to get pregnant, she said, "You have low progesterone." Then she asked me to stick out my tongue. After just glancing at it she said, "Don't eat any more sugar." How could she know that I have been eating Easter candy? Then she checked my pulse and said, "You are very tired." How could she know that I haven't had a good nights' sleep in at least two weeks?

She told me to lay down and she took off my socks and rolled up my pant legs. Then just started putting needles into my feet, ankles, and legs. I immediately closed my eyes. I had no idea she was starting because we were just chatting. Then she put some needles in my hands, arms, stomach, and head. She put one in the top of my head and one on my forehead.

She then put heaters on my stomach and feet. After about five minutes I thought she was taking some out but I looked and there were still needles in me. After about five more minutes she came in and once again I thought she was taking some out, but I looked and there were the same needles. I guess she was either turning them or pushing them in more.

Over all it didn't hurt. It was like a little prick when she put them. I was relaxed when I left, but I guess anyone would be relaxed in they just had needles taken out of them and forced to lay down and still for 45 minutes.

Afterwards I asked her how many treatment I would need and she answered, "Four more treatments and you will be pregnant." We'll see.
