Chinese New Year in Chicago

Isaac really liked eating in bed while watching TV.

The fort in between the beds was a kids dream.

Julie was an awesome host and got us the best room too.

Nolan slept through a delicious Dim Sum lunch.

Isaac loved the lazy susan and that he could pass me things across the table on it. I'm pretty sure it was spinning the entire lunch.

Isaac took this lovely picture of Aunt Julie.

Random old lady that talked to our kids.

Year of the Snake.

Awesome parade!

The best dragon dancers I've ever seen. The brought them in from China just for the celebration.

Getting ready for a bubble party

Every time I bring out the camera I get this blank face. Luckily he finally responded to the bubbles. I was trying to get a cute picture for invitations, but that didn't happen. I also got some jumbo balls for his party.

Valentine's Treats

Shannon made these scrumptious black forest cupcakes with cherry filling inside, while I attempted cinnamon roll hearts. As you can see mine are not cute hearts, more like crazy owls or cassette tapes. They were yummy. I also attempted a Neapolitan cupcake, yes a three layered cupcake. It was good, but not fantastic.

Play time

They were so cute playing outside together while I made dinner.

Isaac even has some neighbor friends that come knocking on our door asking if he can come out and play. Of course all the girls love Nolan.

Surgery Update

Nolan's surgery went well. In fact he was much calmer after the surgery than he was before. Before surgery he was having continuous tantrums about wanting to put his coat on. Which is his way of telling me he wants to leave. The nurses were great and we were back home at about 8am. He even said two new words later in the morning, hi dad and trash. I can tell that he hears better because he jumps at a lot of noises now. The tricky part now is for us to try to keep water out of his ears for the next year.

Funny Story

I know I'm behind on blogging. I've got some great posts for you guys, just need the time. Nolan will have his surgery tomorrow, something happen with the doctor's family and they had to reschedule everything.
For now I'll give you a funny story to hopefully hold you over until I can get more posts up. After putting Isaac to bed I noticed on the monitor that he was still sitting up in bed not really doing anything. Usually he rearranges his blankets or reads books. So I go in and talk with him. He tells me he ate a Pez and his teeth are going to rot. Side note he put the Pez in his bed to hide it from Nolan. The also had a flosser in his hand. He then started flossing his teeth and asked me if those were sugar bugs on it. So we talked about dental hygiene. Fast forward to the morning. Isaac usually comes in my room and announces that he has to go potty and proceeds to my bathroom. This morning he announced that he had to look in the mirror. And I knew it was to see if his teeth had rotted. He then told me he ate the rest of the Pez candies.

Happy Valentine's Day

Isaac had fun making play dough for his friends. He even wrote his name on them and his friends names, really just their first initial but that's a lot of work for him. We made these Sunday and he was so proud of them he wanted to go to school after they were finished.
