Mmmm...Apple Cake

This is my first time making my mom's apple cake and the mini ones are delicious. Three of them are already gone. The recipe will be posted on my group's freezer meal site.

New to us books

Isaac got a book from the library that he was refusing to return by hiding it around his room. So I went to half.com to see if I could find it cheap and I did find it plus a few more. He now has a few new favorite books. Of course they are all construction equipment related, Digger Man and Dig, Dig, Digging.

Those stinking caterpillars

ate our kohlrabi. So we had a science experiment with them. We collected 30+ caterpillars and eggs, watched them, and disected one. Isaac really enjoyed watching them and commenting on the disection.

Lowe's Build and Grow

Isaac went with dad to build a school locker and it looks like he had fun.

David's grandmother, Nyny, went home to heaven last week. I'm already missing her smiling face and laugh.

Labels

With Isaac starting preschool I've had to figure out how to label everything. I already had inchbug labels for his sippy cups, which are very handy since his friend brought home someone elses cup on the first day. Well, for his clothes, lunch box, and backpack I didn't want to do something permament since I'd like to use all these things for Nolan. After a search I found this really neat company, Oliver's Labels . On their labels they will print a personal number and their website, so if the item is found the person can contact the company and get your item returned to you. I love this because then I don't have to put personal infomation on Isaac's stuff. Also the labels for clothes can be removed if you want to donate the clothes or use them for another child.

Rough Day at School

I've been getting reports on how Isaac's day at preschool is from his friend Kylie. Well, today she said they had a "rough day." Apparently they are like brother and sister in class and they got into a "fight." A preschool "fight" is karate chopping a baby doll and knocking down blocks. When the teacher redirected Isaac he got really upset and didn't stop crying until I got there. And since he was crying, Kylie got upset that he was upset. Kylie said she was crying because she was not nice to her best friend, but the funny thing is the teacher said that Isaac knocked down her blocks. I'm thinking the teacher didn't see what really went on. This whole thing is hilarious to me, because this is what a rough day at preschool is like.

Family Dedication

Yesterday we dedicated our family to raising Nolan in a Christian home and I was so glad that our Indiana "family" was able to attend. We also went out to eat afterwards to celebrate and the 5 kids were awesome!
