Easy Chicken and Dumplings

I love chicken and dumplings but have never attempted to make them at home. I usually won't try a recipe unless it has easy in the title. I found just the recipe over at Women Living Well. Mine was a bit salty so I think I'll use part water and part broth next time, but it was delicious. I had no idea that dumplings had to cook for so long, or that they puffed up.

When it's too cold to go outside to dig

we play with rice krispies.

This week

We've been sick this week and have spent way too much time at home, but he's done a great job entertaining himself and me. He will not let go of this tool box, it's like his man purse. Everything goes in it that he thinks is valuable and it everywhere. Also we got a fireman's hat from the Halloween clearance that he likes too wear. In other news this week. I ordered this little people nativity and am so excited for Christmas this year. I got an awesome deal at Family Christian Stores.

Christmas gifts

Isaac would also love a case of scotch tape for Christmas. David has requested Amazon gift cards for Christmas. I tried to get more out of him, but that's all he could think of. We do need a few items for the new baby so the gift cards would help with that.

Cleaning windows

He sees me using a squirt bottle to clean the counters, windows, and more. So I gave him a bottle with water and he asked for a rag and went to town on the windows. Hours of entertainment!

Another gift idea

These sheets can be found at pottery barn kids for $49. I'm not paying that for a toddler/crib sheet, but if one of you wants to that'd be great. I'll have to post pictures of the vintage sheets that he'll be using when he moves to the twin bed. They bring back memories of the Hamburgler and Snoopy's friends.

Gummy Update 19 weeks 2 days

Gummy looks great! It's measuring 2 days ahead of schedule and weighing in at a whopping 11 ounces. The average weight for this age is 8 1/2 ounces. We did not find out the gender, so far the only person that knows is the ultrasound tech. Gummy's heart rate is 157. The doctor and ultrasound tech said that the baby is very very active! I feel it doing flips all the time and just in the past week have felt it punching me. I thought it was kicks but found out today that baby is head down and it's arms and hands were constantly moving. I thought Isaac was active, but that's nothing compared to this one. I've gained 4 pounds since my last visit and am having a lot of contractions, but that is to be expected with a second pregnancy. The doctor also said that I should expect to be more tired with this pregnancy since I am chasing a little boy all day.
How am I feeling? I don't have the appetite I did with Isaac so I'm hoping I don't gain as much weight either. I'm tired especially this week, with the time change Isaac's been up at 5am and 4am today. But I'm grateful he takes good naps. I still get nauseous, but it goes away fairly quickly especially if I drink lemonade. I don't think exercise is in my future since I tried to go walking a few weeks ago and had terrible cramping by the end of my 10 minute walk. Yeah, 10 minutes, kinda pathetic. My next ultrasound will be 3D with video at 30 week. Gummy waving with it's arm and hand.

Christmas and Birthday

I'm getting inquiries as to what we want for Christmas and I know most of the family reads the blog. So I'll post it here and ya'll can discuss amongst yourselves what you'll get. We got Isaac this car/train table for Christmas. He has plenty of matchbox cars, but only one train. He could use some trains or if you want to get him matchbox cars, he would love construction vehicles. He has one backhoe and he loves it. We could use some more kids movies. I'm trying to establish a family movie night and I think David is tired of Monster's Inc., Ice Age, and Open Season.
Also Isaac would love some art supplies. Also if you open up the Wal-Mart Toy Book that you received in the mail last week he would love any of the battery powered ride-on cars/trucks. One of our neighbors has a quad and Isaac had a blast riding on it.
As for clothes, 3T fits him perfectly but I'd like to start stocking up on 4T clothes. Actually his 4T pajamas fit very well. He's wearing size 9/10 shoes right now. If you'd like to get him shoes please get 11 or bigger. The clothes that family got him last Christmas really helped us out this year when it started to get cold.
Hope this helps.

Leftover pumpkins

Use golf tees and various tools to practice his skills.

Not quite ready for paint

I love our aquadoodle mat, it gives Isaac's the opportunity to paint without the mess of paint. We started out painting on the mat on the floor and after awhile he realized that he should be painting at his art table. He was so cute attempting to carry it all to his table. I think he discovered that it was water and not paint when he tasted it. I'm hoping that's why he thought it was ok to paint the walls and every piece of furniture.

Mismatched

The other day a facebook friend posted a picture of her daughter in mismatched pjs that her husband had picked out. Well, here's David's work. Yup that's a shirt that's too small and could be considered a belly shirt. David not only does this for pjs he occasionally does it for weekend wear too. It's quite entertaining to see what Isaac's wearing when David dresses him.
