Cake and Cooking

Isaac is not only obsessed with fishing but he also LOVES cake. This past week, anytime I opened the fridge he would steal a cupcake that and run to sit on his table so the dogs wouldn't steal. I ended up throwing away the leftover cupcakes because I was tired of arguing with him why he couldn't eat cake morning, noon, and night.
I've tried to get him more involved in cooking with me in hopes that he will want to eat what he has cooked. So the last couple of pictures are from him helping me hammer saltines, to make a crust for the chicken, and shaking the chicken in the bag. He didn't eat it this time, but he might have been full on cake.

Cooking Pizza

We ended this wonderful weekend by making a couple of pizzas. Isaac really liked the crust, which he kept stealing from the pizzas before I could get them in the oven.

Mother's Day Surprise

Nolan and I flew to SC for as a Mother's Day present to my mom and for family to meet Nolan. Nolan did great for his first flight. Everyone was extremely helpful in carrying bags for me and helping collapse the stroller. The airline did lose the canopy of the car seat, but with that being the only thing lost I'd say we did pretty well. I had to get a picture of him on his first flight, and apparently people aren't used to cameras with viewfinders. We did have some issues on the way back, he didn't like having to hang out on the plane for an hour while they fixed/rechecked the engine, but once we got going he was fast asleep. Thank you to Gma and Gpa for hosting a little family get together so everyone could love on Nolan. We had a great time but I'm exhausted and Nolan caught a cold so we'll be staying put for awhile.

I came back to a wonderful surprise from my husband and Isaac and a clean house.

Easter 2011

Birthday Presents

I should be napping right now since I only got 3 hours of sleep last night but I thought I'd give you guys a post before my trip to SC. David decided he couldn't keep my birthday presents a secret any longer. So I got a super cool new lens, 35mm 1.8, and a speedlight. You can't tell that half of these picture were taken at 10pm. Please ignore Isaac's naked bum, he decided that he wanted to use the potty today and not wear any bottoms. He is so sweet to give his brother kisses, makes my heart melt. Nolan would laugh after I would take his picture, I think he liked the new flash.

The Green Hammer

Thursday night I went out to a 7pm movie with a friend and left both boys with David. I had gone out once before leaving both boys with David so I knew he could handle it. Well Isaac is supposed to take a bath at 8 and go to bed at 8:30. When I walked in the house just past 10pm David is walking around the house carrying two crying boys. Apparently when it was time to go take a bath they couldn't find Isaac's hammer and Nolan had just woken up so David just held them watching TV until reinforcements came. (David tells me that they had just started crying because Dorito was barking when I drove up and am airplane had just gone overhead at the same time.)The next day the hammer was found under the table cloth. If you've looked at the pictures of Isaac over the past year you'll notice that he usually has a tool in his hand. The first once that became his appendage was the pliers and when they broke it became the green hammer. God knows how much they mean to Isaac and sent us a sign to order more. Over at kids.woot.com they have a set that has Isaac's green hammer and pliers for $5.99. So I told David to order it, and he ordered 3 stating that Nolan will want these tools one day too.

Embarrassed

Every time I went to take a picture of him he would give me this face. This was him showing me his "embarrassed" face. And this is what he thinks about hats.

Loving his new bike

Our neighborhood had it's annual spring garage sales this weekend and we did pretty well selling stuff, but I also picked up a couple of things for Isaac. Look at that smile! Since we don't have family here to spoil him, I think I try to make up for it.
