PBS in the Park

One happy boy! Waiting for the Wild Kratts to come on stage. Quite possibly the best family picture yet of all 4 of us. Seeing George! He really wanted to go and hug him but the line was soooo long and we'd have to wait in that line for a couple of hours. Sorry kiddo, maybe next time.

Got Milk?

I've found that having two kids is a juggling act and sometimes I drop the ball or in this case milk. I was holding Nolan trying to pour a drink for Isaac when I dropped a full gallon of milk. The side split open and there was no containing the mess. Thankfully my friend's husband was home and could come over to move the fridge for me.
Right now I'm barely able to juggle all the doctor's appointments. That seems to be the only reason we make it out the door, which is vastly different than a few months ago. Isaac and I had a bustling activity schedule, but now I can't remember the last time we did something just Isaac besides a doctor's appointment. I'm still trying to find our new normal and I hope we get back into those activities soon. Not sure when that normal is going to come though, David's off to Japan next week and then I'll be having my gallbladder removed.

Pool Fun

Isaac and I love the cool water on these hot days. I know David hates this pool, but it allows Isaac to enjoy the pool while giving me a little peace of mind for many reasons. But the main one is that I don't feel like I could watch Isaac close enough if I take Nolan and him to our neighborhood pool. My concerns aren't unfounded either, an 8 year old girl drowned in our neighborhood pool last week and that has been heavy on my heart lately. Please watch your children around water.
On a lighter note, Isaac did great in the pool. I let him just wear swim trunks and told him he can't poop in the pool. He came running to me trying to take his shorts off and once we got them off he just had to pee. That was the end of wearing swim trunks for the day. But he did end up pooping on the potty!

Brotherly Love or Getting Rid of the Competition?

New Diet

This adorable guy has given me a pain in my side, literally. Since having him I've been waking up in the middle of the night with a pain under my right ribs and sweating. I thought it was just something I ate because it happens about once a week, until last week. Last week I got the pain during the day and finally googled it to see that I have gallstones. Since then I've been on the gallstone diet, fresh fruits and veggies, and haven't had an attack. But an ultrasound this morning revealed gallstones, which means I'll be having my gallbladder removed. My consult with the surgeon isn't until the 23, so I'll be on the gallstone diet for awhile. Hopefully I'll lose these last 15 pounds.

Mr. Independent

Isaac watches what I do and tries to do the same. I walked away from the dinner I was cooking to go into the living room to pick up Nolan and I walked back into the kitchen to this guy stirring dinner. I absolutely love that he put on an ovenmit before attempting to stir, but I don't like that he was touching a hot stove without mama there. Here he was in the house playing half naked, because we are still working on potty training, and he decided he wanted to play in the yard. Well, the only shoes he can put on by himself are his rain boots. Here's Isaac taking it upon himself to pick up trash in the yard. He won't go into the grass without shoes on so he put on the closest shoes to him. And here he is making pizza. In the past couple of weeks he has also taken it upon himself to put 'lotion' on his hands at nap time and take off his pants and diaper at nap time. The 'lotion' was his prescription steroid cream. When I walked into his room after seeing him put on 'lotion' on the monitor, he showed me his hands and was so proud of himself for putting the 'lotion' on all by himself. Both situations led to a big mess.
I've also spied Isaac trying to give Nolan a pacifier when he's started crying. He's also been rocking Nolan when he's in the car seat to try to get him to sleep. Such a great big brother.

Kokopax Carrier

Baby Hayden

He's gaining weight like a champ! He's still trying to get the eating thing down, but has pooping mastered. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. Shannon would really like to bring him home.

2 month doctor appt.

Nolan's looking good. He got two shots which left him irritable for the rest of the day but slept a whopping 5.5 hours at night. He'll see the doctor again at 4 months.
