Ball pit

I'm so excited for warmer weather so we can try so many different things in this little pool. I'm thinking shaving cream, jello, etc.

Pediatric Orthopedic Follow Up

This follow up was to see if Nolan's feet have straightened out and if he would need them casted. Well, his right foot seems to be straighter, but not the left. The doctor feels that he once he gains more muscle strength on the left side then his foot will straighten. It's a good thing that First Steps just approved for his physical therapy to be increased to once a week instead of twice a month. We will see the Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon in 6 months.

When you take a cookie for a walk

Nolan had to have a cookie and then both boys wanted to go for a walk around the block, twice.

Isaac was such a good big brother by grabbing Nolan's trike when he thought Nolan was going to pedal into the street when a car was coming.

Nolan decided it was time to eat the cookie after he ran over it and half of it was crumbled on the sidewalk.

4 year old check up

Yes, I'm a little late on taking him in for his check up, but he's been healthy and still is. He's a whopping 50 pounds and 44 inches, which is in the 97 and 94 percentiles. The doctor was amazed at how far his speech has come along. He is expected to know his colors, count to 10, say the alphabet, and recognize letters before kindergarten. So far he can do half of these, but we have another year to work on the others.

Sensory Play

I had some expired bread crumbs and some clearanced sprinkles from Halloween for these guys to play with outside. I love it when these two play together. In the last picture Nolan was copying Hayden biting his shirt.

Dentist

Nolan just had his first trip to the dentist and although he decided to wear his cape, he was no superhero. He hid his face with his hands and refused to let them to anything. The picture below is of him putting his treasure chest toy in his to go bag. He did carry that bag around all day. Nolan loves brushing his teeth and even uses toothpaste, which is something that Isaac has only started to tolerate. Because Nolan was on the bottle for so long and because he takes a paci at night he will need braces in the future. Giving up the paci at this point won't make that much of difference, just less sleep for me.

Isaac on the other hand has been a champ ever since his first visit a couple of years ago.

Half Marathon Completed!

On the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!

In awe of these guys walking it with their packs on, which weighed 40-50 lbs.

I can spot the finish line! This was the most eventful race I've ever done. First off there were bands all throughout the race. One was made up of elementary kids, another was a block gospel, and there were others that were everything from rock to country. Also there were dancers along the way, which consisted of belly dancers, cloggers, square dancers, and cheerleaders. Many people from the community came out of their homes to cheer us on. Security did an awesome job as well. One man tried to sneak on to the track and he was chased and tackled right in front of me. I also saw a couple of firefighters that were in full uniform with helmets, gas masks, and tanks. Thankfully the weather was cool and cloudy the entire race. God really blessed me with a wonderful race experience. I had a hard time after the race. I couldn't get comfortable and my feet had hives all over them. Apparently excess exercise causes and allergic reaction. A marathon is on my bucket list so I may need to train a bit longer.

Bored Games

While I was cooking dinner the boys were upstairs laughing together, which rarely happens. It's usually Nolan laughing and Isaac screaming. Apparently Nolan was dumping board games and Isaac was laughing at him. I heard them laughing and I heard the board game pieces being dumped, but let them be. I can always clean them up later.
