Thank you for the prayers

David's grandmother woke up today and is talking. I can't wait to see this sweet old lady. Even though we just smile each other since I don't speak Chinese and she doesn't speak English. I just love the way she smiles and laughs.

Cute Skirt

How cute is this? I don't have a girl to make this for, but luckily I have friends with little girls.

Great Uncle Feron

When I was in high school a great uncle of mine took me to the Wrigley mansion for a wonderful dinner and showed me around his home island of Catalina. I had the best salad I had ever had that night, I still remember how wonderful the baby shrimp taste. I loved hearing his story of how he started the first grocery store on the island, and how he dug out under his house to make a vault to hide his money and valuables. He even took me to the vault to find a piece of jewelry that was his late wife's that he though would be perfect for me. When he couldn't find the pendant he was thinking of he gave a beautiful diamond and sapphire ring that I now where instead of my wedding ring (still have a few pounds to lose before that will fit again). Even though I only took one trip out to stay with Uncle Feron, he had a lasting impression on me. I still have his business card. I can't wait to share his story and show Isaac where our family built the first grocery store. A few years later he attempted suicide by drinking alcohol and taking pills. He was in a lot of pain at the time. Elder suicide is a not talked about, especially considering how taboo the subject of suicide is.

15 months!!!

We celebrated 15 months by going to the doctor again and getting diagnosed with Croup. They crushed a steroid pill and tried to hide it in chocolate pudding, which didn't go well. Isaac, the nurse, and ended up with pudding all over us. Next time I'll request the vanilla.
A cute story that I don't want to forget...we were sitting at a red light and I noticed that my car was shaking. I look in the rear view mirror and Isaac is dancing in his seat. He loves dancing! Yesterday he was dancing in the isle at church. He has always loved music. When he was a month old and fussy at 2am we turned on some music and he didn't like the slow stuff. He got quiet when he heard Madonna and Justin Timberlake's song. It funny to look back and see how his personality was already developing.

15 Month Doctor Appointment

Isaac is weighing in at 28lbs 3oz, 93%; height 34 3/8in, 99.8%; head 18 3/8in, 44%. He's a big healthy boy that goes through 3 gallons of milk a week. Because of the amount of milk he drinks the doctor wanted to get a blood draw to check his blood sugar and for anemia. Also since he eats everything he finds on the floor and outside we are getting his lead levels tested too. We've already gotten the results from the blood sugar and anemia, which were normal. We have to cut the amount of milk he drinks to half of what he currently drinks. This should be easy since he loves water.
At our hour long appointment Isaac spit up all over me, which left me smelling like rotten milk. The appointment itself went well and the doctor was impressed with how healthy he has stayed. Nurse Pam then gave Isaac 3 shots, which went as well as expected just a little crying.
Next we went the lab to get his blood drawn. This did not go well. After waiting an hour they attempted to do a draw and stuck him 3 times!!! I was crying when we left and they told me we could come back next week or go to the hospital. I opted for the hospital because I did not want that lady touching my son again. With it being an hour past his nap we headed home to rest and went to the hospital after lunch, which he didn't eat due to his new teeth. The hospital nurses were soooo much better with Isaac and me. They even let him keep the roll of dinosaur tape.

Do you recognize it?

Helping Coach

Isaac is so helpful these days, when his friend was crying in the car he handed her a toy. He even puts dog food that has spilled back into the dog bowls when they are eating. Well this time he had the opportunity to help Coach. Daisy wasn't letting Coach through the door so Isaac pulled him through.

Early morning zoo time

We went to the zoo first thing in the morning and got to see all the animals up close. It was amazing because the lions and tigers are usually napping somewhere in the back, but not today. They were upfront and checking us out! The kids loved the furry animals and didn't know what to think about the other ones, such as this walrus. He was even talking to us. It was soooo neat!

Simplifying for Sanity

If you feel like joining me then click on the picture. I'm hoping I can stick with this and get the entire house clean, that would be a first. I'm starting with the living room. There I've said it, so I've committed it to.

Bean bag cover

Remember this Goodwill find, purple leopard print bean bag chair. It just got a make-over and I love it. I got the tutorial from here and it was super easy.
