PE indoors

When we've needed to get moving or do PE, we've followed along with Coach Wood from Tennessee. He's quite entertaining and they looked so fun that I've had to join in.

They've even done some workouts with their PE teacher. This one was using plastic grocery bags to juggle.

Nolan's 9th Birthday

We originally had a birthday party planned with friends at a paint your pottery place, but cancelled it due to Covid. So for his actual birthday we went on a couple of walks through the neighborhood to see signs our neighbors made to wish him a Happy Birthday. He said it was the best day this year. So I think we did a pretty good job helping him feel celebrated.

Journal of Isolation

Because I want to remember these days and have the time to journal it. We started the day with PE or Kinesiology as their teacher would call it. He made a video last night and it was neat to see them working out to the music and juggking with household items like grocery bags and socks.

Then I attempted to have the kids watch bootleg Hamilton with me. Isaac watched most of it now they are both going around signing Da Da Da Da Da from the King.

We went for a walk as a family and completed a workout. This is the only way I've found that we can keep from being too irritable in the evenings.

Next up I tried braiding my hair by watching a video. So hopefully this will be a day 1 picture and it will be fabulous by the end of isolation.

David's been passing the time by playing VR games.

Beginning of Isolation

Thursday, March 12

Rumors started during the day that school may get cancelled next week and as soon as school was out my phone started blowing up with texts. School was cancelled for the next day and week. I had planned on having a robotics competition/end of the year celebration on Saturday and needed to go to Sam's to pick up items for that. Since I was already at Sam's I picked up some other foods anticipating all of us being home for the next week. We were also supposed to have a birthday party for Nolan with friends at a pottery painting place on Sunday so I got some cupcakes for that. The line to check out was close to the back of the store and they were limiting how many waters people could get.

At this point David had been working from home for a week due to the Coronavirus too.
