4 Years Ago Today

My facebook memories showed me that 4 years ago today my feed was filled with prayers as I underwent surgery for a mastectomy to prevent breast cancer due to my BRCA genes. I'm so very thankful for my encouraging friends but also for my supportive husband and mom. I wish I could say that BRCA hasn't touched my life since then, but every 6 months I'm reminded my by GynOc/OBGyn that I should get a hysterectomy. BRCA significantly touched my family this past year in that my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time after being cancer free for 12 years and my aunt was also diagnosed with breast cancer for a first time. I'm hoping that cancer doesn't touch our family again that that these preventative surgeries were worth it.

Fun Times in TX for Isaac's Birthday

Isaac requested that he spend his birthday with his cousins. So we did. Our hotel had an indoor pool where they swam and played until we had lunch at the hotel's restaurant.

We traveled to the Alamo.

Also to a military museum at Camp Mabry.

Then on to the state capitol of Austin, Texas.

He also had Granny and Grumpy sing Happy Birthday to him.

Exciting Times

My first week went well. I love teaching and have a great group of kids. It's just tiring and consuming most of my time, but I love it.

Christmas Day 2015

We started the day by opening presents..

there were a lot of nerf guns.

Then we flew to Texas. Isaac was amused the the seat in front of him said to use the seat 'bottom' as a flotation device.

We ended Christmas Day with a Huang family dinner.
