Pumpkin Experiment Fail

Saw this on pinterest. Put dirt in the pumpkin and supposedly the seeds will start growing. I thought that if the seeds didn't grow at least we could plant some mums in it. Unfortunately it's been exactly two weeks and the pumpkin is mushy and fruit flys or gnats have made it their new home.

He's a big boy, but not as big as Isaac was.
He should be saying 20-50 words, but he's only saying a few and signing a few.
He should walk well, which he is doing pretty well.
He should help with dressing and undressing, which he does. He loves wearing his shoes and throws a fit when we take them off.
He should point to body parts when asked. Not doing this but thoroughly enjoys poking our eyes, and sticking his fingers up our noses.
He should use a spoon and fork. Check!

Overall he's doing well. I mentioned to the doctor that his foot still turns in when he wears his orthotics. So the doctor put his foot in the neutral position and his knee is then pushed around to the outside of his leg. Now we have a referral for an orthopedic specialist.
I was supposed to have him off the bottle by now, but he's my baby and that's his comfort item. So I haven't pushed it. The doctor wants me to get rid of all the bottles, so now we are in a battle with sippy cups and constipation. Nolan still wakes up one time in the night and I give him a bottle. Doctor also wants me to stop this, but I'm not doing this one. Nolan will be waking the entire house if I don't go in there with a bottle.
We have definitely started the terrible twos. Nolan started biting me last week in an effort to show me he didn't like the situation.

Randomness

Nolan likes to walk around with random things in his hand and when he comes across something else he'd like to hold, he puts down what he was holding and picks up the new thing. He has also started just leaving things in random places and I'm not sure if it's intentional or not. For example, Nolan found a rock in the backyard and carried it in and put it in Isaac's shoe. Is he doing his brotherly love thing or just thought it was a cool place to put the rock? I found a bag of muffins in my vegetable crisper drawer in the fridge. Not sure when he put it there, but I know it was him. I just found the phone that had been missing for two weeks, it was in the seat of a ride on toy. We are still missing one of his shoes and I'm not even sure that's still in the house anymore because he also likes to put things in the trashcan. For instance, we were at the doctor and Nolan was playing with the items in my purse while we were in the waiting room. He grabbed a new pack of gum from my purse and just started wandering around, but then the trashcan caught his eye and I could tell what he was going to do next. I told him no, but he just put it in the trashcan and turned to me laughing. By the way I did not get the new pack of gum out of the trash at the doctor's office, ewww.

Uh Oh

There is a fifth bird in our backyard. Yup that is a hawk checking out our chickens.

Swim lessons

Both boys are taking swim lessons at the local YMCA. This is Isaac's first time taking lessons without a parent in the water, and he hated it. I had to sit outside of the pool area behind glass and was heartbroken to see him crying and knowing that I shouldn't go intervene. Nolan, on the other hand, loves it. Hopefully next week will go better for Isaac.

18 months=1 1/2 years old

Daisy's New Gear

David wants to try taking her out on the boat. We'll see how that goes. But in the meantime both boys enjoy trying to pick her up.

Toboggan Uses

Got this awesome toboggan at a garage sale for $2 and Isaac's already putting it to use. Nolan also loves being pulled across the carpet in it.

Robot

Isaac was recently skyping with Yehyeh and told him that he would like a robot. So Yehyeh made a deal with him. If Isaac drew a picture of the robot he wanted he would send him two. Here's Isaac's drawing and he's received three robots in the mail. He's so excited about playing with these robots and I'm loving how education Alphie is. Thank you Yehyeh!

Beautiful

Color Run

We're already planning out next years run. I love that this run donates to the Special Olympics and they let kids participate. When Isaac saw me when I got home he asked me if I ran through paint and was is awe. He might be up for it next year.

Fruit Waters

Just something I found on pinterest. Some fruit water recipes and so far Nolan loves them all, probably because he is drinking from my cup, David likes the raspberry lime water and I like the citrus water, orange, lemon, and lime. We've also tried to the watermelon rosemary water and the blackberry sage water. They are all yummy and encourage us to drink more water.

Fisher Price House Party Pack

I got selected to throw a Fisher Price Party and this is the huge box of toys they sent us. Can't wait for the party.
