He's been giving me a hard time when it comes to feeding. He now won't eat any vegetables, which were his favorite, and has recently preferred fruits, but now he wants to eat solid foods. The problem is that he still gags and is still trying to learn to chew and swallow. As you can see he isn't starving. So I'm not that worried about his eating yet. He seems to have a sensory problem with his mouth, whereas, Isaac has a problem touching foods of different texture. I'm glad that Nolan doesn't have a problem picking up bananas or other wet foods. In contrast Isaac likes to use a fork to eat chicken nuggets so he doesn't have to pick them up.

Some new foods and an allergy
Today we tried some eggs after he refused to eat Banana Orange Medley and Apple Blueberry. He liked the eggs, but then he started to turn red around his mouth and then got bumps (hives)! So I called the doctor and I though it was the oranges in the Banana Orange Medley. Then I looked at the label of the Banana Orange Medley and it consist of Banana Puree, Mango Puree, and on down the list is orange juice. He's really allergic to Mango, which David is also allergic to.

Follow-up Finally
Today I met with the plastic surgeon and it was decided that I need another surgery to move the implant that isn't in the right place. This will be an outpatient procedure and recovery on this should be easier, but I will still have the 4-6 week restriction on heavy lifting.
We also discussed my memory loss and there are two theories. One is that I am sleep deprived, which is very likely. Having the surgery and the drugs after changed my sleep pattern and I may not be back to a normal sleep pattern. The other is that I may be low on iron and it is taking everything I've got just to make it through the day. If that's the case then I need to see my family doctor to get blood work done.
I'm kinda down about this because I was hoping he could just push the implant where it needed to be, you know, adjust it like a chiropractor. I was also thinking that if I had to go under anesthesia again that I would just have him take them out, but it's not that simple. It's actually a big surgery and there would be no turning back because of the excess skin that he would remove. I did find it funny that as soon as I took my gown off the doctor mentioned that he wasn't happy with one side and we have to go bigger. The nurse then reminded him that I wanted to go smaller. These things aren't going to change with my weight fluctuating and I'd like them to look normal after I lose weight. I'm going to try to sleep now, while David puts the boys to bed.

Speech
My speech went wonderfully. For those few hours God took away this cold and gave me confidence. Of course the cold came back as soon as I picked up my children from a friend's house. During my breakout session, it turned out to be in the main room, I spoke after a genetic counselor spoke. It was so awesome that our presentations just seemed to flow together. We even answered questions together. I had a few people come up afterwards to tell me that they really appreciate hearing it from the patients perspective. The group that we spoke to was mainly health care professionals. I even spotted two that had helped me in the last month. I was so grateful that a friend came out to support me too. It was an awesome opportunity and turned out better that I anticipated. I'm an educator at heart!

A post for Nolan
For some reason you decided you like pacifiers again. When you are really excited it looks like you are trying to fly by flapping your arms. You still aren't crawling but you have a long reach and can pivot around to get what you want. You are soooo loud when you want to talk which makes Isaac tell you either "No baby" or "Too loud." But you don't care, you love any attention you can get from him. You light up as soon as you see Daddy come in from work and require that that he pick you up.

Crazy Wonderful Day
Morning: Speech went very well and I'll blog more about that later.
Afternoon: Isaac breaks out in hives suddenly for the second day in a row but this time it's over more of his body. I give him benadryl and we go to the doctor, but of course the benadryl is working so it's not as bad when the doctor sees it and attributes it to a viral infection since he's been sick lately.
Evening: Family dinner, which I love even if I'm feeding two children at once while trying to have a conversation with my hubs. Got to hear about his day at work, which I also love because he shares his other life with me.
Late Night: Book club at Starbucks until they closed with a couple of lovely ladies. Always a great time talking with other adults.
Late Late Night: Watched a show with the hubs while blogging and now off to bed.

Funny Story
So I went to book club tonight to meet up with two lovely ladies to discuss life, I mean a book we read. It turns out that one of the lovely ladies visited me when I was in the hospital and I had no memory of it. She had to remind me of our conversation and what we were doing. Then I come home and tell David about it and he reminded me of two other visitors I had that day that I didn't remember at all. Those two other visitors were my husband, David, and my best friend, Shannon. Oh how I wish my memory would come back to me. It seems to be like mommy brain doubled.
