Our street got hit by some kids smashing pumpkins at 1am. I thought I hear car doors way to close to the house so I got up and looked out the window to see this. I think it is actually our neighbors pumpkin because three of their 6 got smashed and we still have 10. 
I decided to do some experiments with our smashed pumpkin. First we took some seeds and put them in a napkin, in a bag with water. Not we are tracking them to see how long it takes for them to sprout. 
Next up was a pinterest idea. Using cookie cutters and a mallet. 
We discovered it is much easier to do it from the inside of the pumpkin.
